Lin Dan has beaten his teammate Bao Chunlai in the 2007 semifinal. The final score was 21-14, 21-16.

“Bao Chunlai is my teammate and a tough opponent. I’ve prepared well for this match. We play each other all the time, so we know each other’s game”, Lin Dan said during a press conference after his win.

For Lin Dan, the match against Sony was the hardest to play so far at this year’s All England. “I didn’t have a good start, so didn’t manage to take the first set. Sony was simply playing very well, but I caught up with him.”
When asked about whether he was disappointed that Taufik didn’t show up in Birmingham, Lin Dan answered “Yes, quite disappointed. We should have met in the quarterfinal, but he had some reasons for not attending the All England.”
He is not planning to go to the Swiss Open 2007 if he beats Chen Yu tomorrow. Lin Dan would rather recover and prepare for the Sudirman Cup in Glasgow in a few months.
A new BWF rule can let top players meet each other very early, often in the first round. Lin Dan thinks that he will take it more seriously from the very beginning. Badminton is now reaching a higher standard.
So many Chinese players have reached the All England semifinals, and Lin Dan is asked whether he finds it positive or negative. “It’s nothing about good or bad. The importance is to expand badminton’s popularity and let the audience see some quality badminton”.
Lin Dan also mentioned that he likes to listen to music, shop and drive fast cars. Besides playing badminton, he also likes to play football, and his hero is Ronaldinho from Brazil.
