Peter Gade will not be able to compete in the because of the illness that has been bothering him for a few weeks – ever since the Copenhagen Masters. The Dane won the event in 1999 and had vowed to prepare well for this 2008 edition on the road to the Olympics, but had to stay home so as not to jeopardize his chances in the upcoming Olympic Games.
