China's Thomas and Uber Cup teams made a smooth entrance in the competition, as the title-holders trounced Nigeria and the United States respectively in less than 2-1/2 hours in the Istora Senayan Stadium this morning.

Lin Dan and his team mates didn't spend more than 20 minutes per match against their opponents of the day while Eva Lee was the player from the USA who got the most points in a game, losing 10-21 in her second game against Xie Xingfang.

In the mean time, Germany was in a good position to upset Thailand, leading 2-1 in the tie.
