For the first time of its history, the Japanese brand YONEX conquered every single medal won at these Beijing , with all 24 medals won by shuttlers under contract with them.

“It is a dream come true. We’ve been waiting for 20 years for this to happen. We had barely missed it for the last two Olympic Games, but now we have achieved our dream” said Yonex’s Chairman Kosaku Yoneyama.

Indeed, the Japanese brand couldn’t dream of a better outcome for these Olympics as all champions, silver medalists and Bronze medalists play with Yonex gear.

It is a great achievement for this badminton powerhouse which had started in 1946 by its founder Minoru Yoneyama with a first branded racket launched in 1961, some 47 years ago.

The four nations which have swept all titles, China (8 medals, 3 gold), Korea (3 medals, 1 Gold), Indonesia (3 medals, 1 Gold) and Malaysia (1 silver) are all under contract with Yonex, with all players using the whole Yonex gear, from the rackets, of course, but also, game wear, shoes, and racket strings.
