The US$50,000 World event scheduled to be held in Auckland next month again has the Kuala Lumpur Rackets Club as a main sponsor but the organisers are still requiring additional sponsorship to make up a shortfall.  Failure to do so could mean that the tournament will have to be cancelled. Badminton New Zealand CEO Mike Kernaghan says the deadline of next Tuesday will see whether the tournament can be staged or must be called off. The carries one of the biggest prize purses in the region.
