Three out of five top seeds came out as gold medal winners this weekend in Calda de Reinas, for the 44th Yonex Portuguese Internationals, which is one of the last legs of the European Calendar before the circuit playoff participants are announced.

Jill Pittard from England won over local hope Selma Santos in straight games 21/16 – 21/14, while the mixed doubles and ladies’ doubles saw the main favourites win the event as well. The men’s singles event was a tough battle but finally, it was Sweden’s Magnus Sahlberg who came on top of his neighbour, second seed Christian Lind Thomsen from Denmark.
