The final of the mixed team event of the Badminton Asia Youth Under-19 Championships will see China and Malaysia face each other in Lucknow, India, after they defeated India and Indonesia respectively. The Chinese beat India 3-0 while Malaysians had to play one extra match to win the tie as Zulfadli Zulkiffli surprisingly lost tamely to Shesar Hiren Rhustavito 14-21, 11-21. But Sonia Cheah put things back in order for Malaysia by beating Elysabeth Purwaningtyas on the same scoreline, giving her compatriots a chance to clinch gold against the mighty Chinese.  This is the fourth Malaysia-China final in the past five years.
