At the finals of the Brazil on Sunday, Chinese Taipei’s Yang Chih Hsun became the second singles shuttler to score a career first.  After Spain’s Carolina Marin threw her hat into the Grand Prix winners’ ring in London, on the other side of the ocean, Yang Chih Hsun scored his first ever victory when he beat Cuba’s Osleni Guerrero in three games to claim the title in Sao Paulo.

Michelle Li took her third title of the year as she dealt the home team the first of three defeats on the day.  Li beat Brazil’s Lohaynny Vicente in three games.  Phillip Chew was the double winner on the afternoon.  He picked up his second title of the day when he and mixed doubles partner Jamie Subandhi defended their Brazil title, thus denying Yang and Li their second title each.
