Denmark’s Boe/Mogensen broke their post-All England title drought to take the only outbound title from the 2011 Li Ning China Open Premier Super Series, where China dominated the other four finals.

Today’s women’s doubles final, which had kicked off the afternoon, began by cooling the crowd down. It was pretty one-sided since Wang Xiaoli / Yu Yang is of a class higher than the young pair Xia Huan / Tang Jinhua, despite the latter’s China Masters crown. Unlike on that occasion, Wang Xiaoli stayed healthy to the end and without surprise, the World Champions won 21-11, 21-10.
In front of the full crowd in the stadium, the score of women’s singles final stopped at 18-12 of the first game after Wang Xin (pictured right) complained of her right knee injury and declared that she had to retire from the match. Her compatriot Wang Yihan thus captured the first China Open title of her career and also secured the top seed spot at the Super Series Finals for the second straight year.
Sometimes an “internal match” of China Team can still be entertaining. Men’s singles defending champion Chen Long bowed down to World Champion Lin Dan in two games. But Chen gave the crowd some suspense by dragging Lin to deuce in the second game and lost 24-26 eventually.
There is no doubt that Joachim Fischer Nielsen / Christinna Pedersen is the pair with best hope of beating China’s top mixed double pairs recently. But today they couldn’t make it. The Danish players seemed to be too tired and lost to Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei (pictured left) in two games 21-11, 21-14. Last Sunday Zhang/Zhao had beaten them in three in the Hong Kong Open final.
Fischer Nielsen/Pedersen may have lost their final, but there was still some good news for Denmark. Mathias Boe / Carsten Mogensen (pictured below) beat the Korean pair Ko Sung Hyun / Yoo Yeong Seong in straight games 21-17, 21-13 to win the men’s doubles title, their first since winning the All England more than eight months ago.
“Can´t believe we have done it, winning the China Open, as only the second Danish men´s doubles pair in the history,” said Boe and Mogensen on their Facebook page. “We are so happy and proud. Ohhh what a feeling.”
The Danes are now apparently heading back to Europe, even though they’ll need to be back in China in two weeks’ time to defend their title at the OSIM BWF World Super Series Finals. Both they and fellow finalists Ko/Yoo, through their impressive performances this week, ensured themselves seeded positions in Liuzhou.

Let me speak for Gerhard this time:
Wang Xin’s retirement is a manipulation so that it helps Wang Yihan to fight the next match. Oh wait, it is already the final? Whatever, still manipulation.
Lin Dan’s win is ugly, because LCW didn’t truly play in the semifinal. Oh wait, LCW is not Chinese and Chen Long is Chinese? Whatever, still manipulation.
Zhang/Zhao’s win is not glorious, because they face other Chinese compatriots in the semi. Reasons? Must I give reasons? Don’t you already know I am reason-free and evidence-free?
Earth is flat, pigs can fly and all walkovers and retirements in all chinese encounters were justified.
pigs can fly and Gerhard can’t serve dessert
Actually I am honoured that you are so much interested in my opinion and that you are obviously browsing all the badzine articles for my comments.
That’s nice! Thank’s a lot!
Who cares about what this biased site says? Just like I don’t expect anything good from your mouth. But the tasting yummy dessert is what makes the story refreshing.
A giant is giant because there are dwarfs. Chinese victories are great because there are sore losers barking about it.
Again, thank your for you good job serving the dessert.
Why are you grouching all the time if you do not care what is discussed on this site?
By the way, insulting people does not support your view, but only shows your desparation.
I am here to hear sore losers in desparation barking and take yummy dessert from you. (Who are in desparation? Giants or dwarfs? lol Who is desparated to contact this contact that and who is desparated to fake his evidence to claim something comforting himself? lol)
Discussion? What should we discuss with someone who can’t even give a simple evidence but just keeps claiming by his pure imagination or so-called “links”
Insulting? So you are not a GOOD dessert server? lol
And, if i describe you means insulting you, then, lol, lol, lolololololol
Write what so ever you(Chinese supporters) wish or like or think or see! Chinese manipulation cant be denied. For the fact its very well accepted by their coach himself!
Write what so ever you(whoever) wish or like or think or see!
Isn’t that what you and Gerhard always doing? Thank you for the dessert. It’s yummy.
Are you seriously pretending that all the chinese walk overs in the ongoing olympic qualification period were justified? Yes, do you?
If you say they are not, give your evidence. Isn’t that part of justification? But who cares whether a dessert servers should be able to justify or whatever? So long as his dessert is refreshing, providing some different taste so that we won’t get bored with main courses, then it is great. Pigs can fly and Gerhard’s dessert is bad:)
Simple question, simple answer: All chinese walk overs justified? Yes or no?
Ask yourself first and think why.
@Kirkwood
Simple question, simple answer: All chinese walk overs justified? Yes or no?
You do not want to anwer, beause even you are not convinced that all the chinese walk overs were justified.
So I take it as a “no” from you.
You see, your imagination flies again, good dessert server.
Again, ask yourself first and think why.
Im here to take dessert from you, not to answer questions from you. A dwarf keeps barking to a giant and giant ignores it. So the dwarf thinks his barking is powerful. Exactly!
I would say « yes ». If i am chinese coach i do exactly the same strategy. Why the n° 5 in world ranking could not paticipate the Olympic Games ?
You are right Dieu! Manipulation is fine but do not pretend as if nothing is happening. Say it loud “We do it”….!
There are regulations. If you do not like them. Work on a change of these regulations.
Cheating is no way. With the same logic you could justify doping because one wants the gold medal so desperately. Cheating only destroys the credibility of a sport and manipulating the results of matches is clear cheating and it violates a whole array of BWF regulations.
Is it fair that Michale Phelps can go for 8 gold medals and that there are only 5 gold medals in Badminton?
Gerhard: I need a like button for your comment.
So why isn’t there any action from BWF towards your so-called manipulation? Yeah, so-called….
Anyway, good job, dessert server. Keep it!
There is empirical evidence.
All apples fall from the tree to the earth.
In all Chinese encounters walk overs are very likely to occur. The accumulation of such icidents is far beyond any realistic probability.
If you deny this fact you are very likely to deny gravity.
What a yummy dessert!
Does everybody see? That’s why I love to come here!
I guess comments here shall share something about badminton happennings and fans reactions. Badzine should moderate comments from Slective-Geeks here with false names. I dont see a healthy conversation here!! Iam sure one such a geek will raise his hand for this comment!
Comments are moderated for abusive language and the like. We don’t yet have a policy for cutting posts that are ‘unhealthy’ or even generally mindless. Perhaps we’ll take that under advisement, however.
Thanks Badzine for the time taken by you to explain your views.
More desserts!
For those who are talking about manipulations, say, LD’s recent withdraws, please provide evidence.
But do you have? Of course you don’t have and thats why you come to badzine to bark, a biased site perfect for losers barking~~
And I just take the desserts and hear the barking
Yeah, I agree with Logan, the discussion here is not healthy. Why? “Manipulation!” “Doping!” “Cheating!”, all coming from their imagination because when asked for evidence, they try to make it to another topic…
But who cares? The more they bark, the happier I feel, because that means the dessert is more yummy
