The home nation at the 2011 European Mixed Team Championships will not be the only team that starts minus its top singles stars.  Poland’s Przemyslaw Wacha is out with an injury and was forced to pull out at the last minute.   Semi-finalists last time around, Poland will be hard-pressed to repeat that feat without Wacha.

Poland’s strength in women’s singles, of course, took a major hit last year when both Wang Linling and Olga Konon left the team.  Poland will have the services of Kamila Augustyn, who had a great run in the 2009 edition, before losing both singles and doubles in three games each in Poland’s semi-final loss to England.
