The Germans had stolen the limelight two years ago by edging the Danes in the team event of the European Championships. On Tuesday in Ankara, Turkey, the Danish Squad took its title back by beating France in the final. The French are the big surprise of this tournament – in spite of good individual rankings, it was not expected to see France passed the semi final stage, yet the “frogs” led by new French National Champion Delphine Lansac beat the German 3/1 in the semi final, while Denmark was edging the Netherlands. The Danes then gave no chance to their opponents with 2 quick victories and long lasting battle from Anna Thea Madsen over Lansac, for a final 3/0 victory.

The individual event started as soon as the team event was finished, and Denmark looks favourite to take most titles, yet could ite the dust with other nations hoping to trouble them.
