Etienne Siat, the man behind the unique “Strasbourg Masters” died of a heart attack on Tuesday. Etienne was passionate about badminton and had been one of the key figures of the French Badminton League of Alsace near the German border. He and his brother Philippe were working on a new edition of the Masters to be held this year together with the University of Strasbourg. The event had been one of the most spectacular badminton shows attended by famous players for the past years, with a break since 2011.

It is a great loss for the badminton community. We at Badzine send our condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
