31-year-old Arvind Bhat scooped his second success after beating Kashyap Parupalli in the final of the Indian on Monday, in Rohtak. The 4th seed played a perfect match and knew he was going to be the winner according to his words to the daily Indian Express: “Before the match, I had one of those flashes, which you don’t get too often. I just knew today was my day and that I was going to beat him,” he said before his success 21-13, 21-17.

Aditi Mutaktar, in the absence of Saina Nehwal, injured, won her maiden title against Arundhati Pantawane but the surprise of the day came with the defeat of top seeds Vishnu/Balan, edged out by the pair of Chopra/Sawant in the mixed doubles event.
