The Japan Ranking Circuit started on May 7th in Saitama.  Players within the top 32 in Japan’s ranking system can participate in this tournament.

With many national team members currently in Malaysia for the Grand Prix Gold, this tournament is a good opportunity for junior national players to attract the attention of the national team coaches.

On the other hand, newer national team players – such as Keigo Sonoda, Kazumasa Sakai and Minatsu Mitani, who became senior national team members this year – must play with much pressure to show their worthiness as senior team members.

In last year’s edition, junior national team player Riichi Takeshita beat Kazushi Yamada, who had reached quarter-finals of the in World Championships in 2010.

The semi-finals and finals can be viewed online free of charge through live streaming by Smash & Net TV.  Check out the new rising stars in Japan!

Schedule (Japan Time)

  • Semi-finals – May 10, 10AM – 5matches
  • Finals – May 11, 10AM 5matches
