The draws for the 2014 BWF World Badminton Championships concluded in Kuala Lumpur today.  Once again, only men’s singles seeds will be in action for the round of 64 and the dreaded distinction of being the first opponent for world #1 Lee Chong Wei goes to Korea’s Lee Dong Keun (pictured).  The 23-year-old may have had a match point against world #2 Chen Long early this year but his only meeting with Lee Chong Wei to date was a one-sided defeat and he has struggled since his two Superseries quarter-final performances this spring.

The two Lees’ compatriots will also have tricky first round match-ups.  7th-seeded Korean Son Wan Ho must face Thomas Cup giant-killer Brice Leverdez of France while Chong Wei Feng, the 16th seed, will start with a rematch against England’s Rajiv Ouseph, whom he narrowly defeated in the Commonwealth Games mixed team final.
