After three years of success as a for the (BAM) from 2000 to 2003, Korea’s Park Joo Bong could be returning to Kuala Lumpur as early as January to become the new Director of Coaching, according to the New Straits Times of Malaysia.  Park answered a telephone interview from the Malaysian newspaper hinting that all he was waiting for was a final confirmation letter from BAM.

Nippon Badminton Association has offered me to continue until 2016 but there has been an initial offer from BAM. If there is an official letter of confirmation from BAM, I would be able to talk to my employers again of a possibility of coming to Malaysia in January,” said Park.

It is hoped that the Korean legend can help deliver the long-awaited gold medal in Rio 2016 for either Lee Chong Wei – who will then be 34 – or new doubles combinations.

BAM has not yet confirmed whether they had made an official financial offer to Park but had made official that they were looking for foreign expertise to head the coaching for the year to come.
