According to the Hindu, Ashwini Ponappa was recorded with the fastest smash for a woman in the Sudirman Cup which occurred last week in Qingdao, China. The Indian women’s doubles player, featuring with India for the first time in 25 years in the Sudirman Cup quarter-final, recorded the fastest smash at 240 km/h.
