Jenny Wallwork slammed the door of the English national team in the summer of 2013 after reaching the world’s 5th spot after a clash with the Badminton England. She made a great come back this Sunday in Timisoara, Romania, winning the women’s doubles event with her team-mate and friend Chloe Birch. The English duo beat France’s Anne Tran and Léa Palermo in four games  11-6, 14-12, 8-11, 11-8.

There is still no sign that the former top English player is ready to come back full speed yet:  “I am good friends with Andy Wood and said as Chloe didn’t have a partner that I would help her out for a few tournaments. It was good fun to play again,” she told Badzine.

Gold and silver couple

It was a good run also for Belgium’s Lianne Tan, who won the women’s singles event, while her boyfriend Indra Bagus took the silver medal, only losing to Indonesia’s Adi Pratama. India’s Sikki Reddy and Kona Tarun won the mixed and the two “Zvonimir” took the men’s doubles.
