After three years of skipping the event, Lin Dan will be back to play the 2011 Li-Ning , which will be the first Super Series event counting for the Olympic qualifying period, where Lin hopes to defend his title.

The 2008 Olympic gold medallist told the Singapore Straits Times: “The Li-Ning Singapore Open is always one tournament that I want to win and add to my collection of trophies. Singapore is also somewhere I’d like to visit, the food is good, people are friendly and the place is very clean.
