Belgian player Yuhan Tan (pictured) has been selected as the new Chair of the Athletes’ Commission.  He takes over from Emma Mason, whose term on the Commission ended this year.  Taking up the post of Vice Chair is Koen Ridder of the Netherlands.  Ridder was newly elected to the Commission last month, while Tan is two years into his four-year term.

Yuhan Tan competed in the 2012 Olympics in London and will be representing Belgium this month at the inaugural European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.  As Chair of the Athletes’ Commission, which was established in 2008, he has a seat on the Badminton World Federation Council and is the only active international player on that body, which is, however, made up of several former international players.
