Choi Hye In and Kang Ji Wook, Korea’s brightest hopes for this year’s intensive badminton calendar, have begun their season by returning to Germany to reclaim their mixed doubles title.  But in the absence of the Dutch, Indonesian, and Malaysian contingents this year, there is not one final today that will not involve either Choi or Kang.  Choi, who won two doubles titles last year will also be playing in an all-Korean girls’ doubles final.  Although Yang Ran Sun narrowly missed the chance to set up a third straight all-Korean final in girls’ singles, Choi Hye In will take on Hong Kong’s Poon Lok Yan in an effort to at least keep the title in Korean hands.

Kang Ji Wook will take on Swedish International runner-up Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the boys’ singles final and in boys’ doubles, Denmark’s Rasmus Fladberg will get a second shot at Kang after losing to the Korean narrowly in the singles semi-finals.

Finals Line-up

BS: Kang Ji Wook (KOR) vs. Viktor Axelsen (DEN)
GS: Choi Hye In (KOR) vs. Poon Lok Yan (HKG)
BD: Kang Ji Wook / Choi Seung Il (KOR) vs. Rasmus Fladberg / Kim Astrup (DEN)
GD: Choi Hye In / Lee So Hee (KOR) vs. Kim Chan Mi / Ko Eun Byul (KOR)
XD: Choi Hye In / Kang Ji Wook (KOR) vs. Emil Holst / Ditte Strunge Larsen (DEN)
