Korea’s Ko Sung Hyun / Yoo Yeon Seong took the men’s doubles title at the 2010 Wilson Super Series, giving Korea and China a lock on the medals.  With Yoo playing in his first ever Super Series final, it was the first ever major title for both men, and they did it in the most impressive fashion: with successive wins over the Super Series Masters champions, the All England champions, and then finally world #1 Koo Kien Keat / Tan Boon Heong of Malaysia, whom they beat 21-18, 21-16 in the final.

It was the first tournament as a pair for China’s Yu Yang / Tian Qing but neither is a stranger to the podium.  They took the final in two games.

Japan’s Satoko Suetsuna / Miyuki Maeda, just as they had in the Beijing Olympics, removed the top seed early but this time they did not fall to the top Korean pair in the semi-finals.  They edged out Ha/Lee 13-21, 21-19, 22-20 to reach the final but are still in search of a Super Series title.

For the second time this year, Wang Shixian of China held her ground against the giant-killers, in this case Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong and Ella Diehl of Russia, who had removed the defending and world champions respectively.  But this time, Wang had to deal with a strong compatriot in the final and dispatched Jiang Yanjiao in two.

Jin won the battle of the Chens in his first three-game match of the tournament, which ended 12-21, 21-15, 21-17.

After a series of disappointments this season, Lee Hyo Jung / Lee Yong Dae finally found their form and seemed to breeze through the field to win their second Swiss Open title.  Along the way, they exacted some payback from China’s Tao/Zhang for the embarrassing first-round defeat at home in January but in the final they made quick work of two of Lee Yong Dae’s former partners.
