After announcing his retirement before the Worlds, Lars Paaske along with partner Jonas Rasmussen, continued to display the form that landed them the coveted All England title earlier in the year. The Danish veterans defied their years and the exhausting heat, to convincingly end the journey of the number 15 seeds.
The 8th-seeded Danes advance to meet Chinese number 4 seeds Guo Zhengdong and Xu Chen after the Chinese were extended to three sets by Chen and Lin from Chinese Taipei.
