The first good news for Malaysian fans from Tokyo is that Lee Chong Wei, top seed, will participate in the upcoming Yonex this week as he has arrived together with the rest of the Malaysian team in the official hotel. Chong Wei was unsure after he sustained a back injury in Paris but his presence in the Japanese capital is a clear hint that he intends to participate in the event.

No news on Chen Jin, however, who had to retire last week in his home event. It is most likely that he will not participate in this week’s event, even if the referees have not yet confirmed whether the Chinese has stayed home.

Badzine will be reporting live from Tokyo this week.
