GAO LING is a mother

It has been two years since Gao Ling hung up her badminton racquet and the former Olympic champion is  already on her way to fulfilling her dreams of adding one more title to her resume – mother.

Gao Ling, who retired from international badminton in 2008, has always spoken about how much she wants to  have a family.  At 17:20 on Friday, Gao Ling gave birth to a first daughter. Her name is yet to be decided and she weighed 6.5 pounds at birth.  Gao Ling has refused to do a photograph session with the local media because she is afraid this will affect her daughter.  Though tired after giving birth, Gao Ling is no doubt still showing her famous smile to her baby girl.
