The Maid of Orleans, Joan of Arc had been hearing voices… and the news has been confirmed. A second international event will take place in France, in Orleans, for an International Series held in the former great medieval city from 5th -8th of April 2012. This boosts chances for French spectators to see top flight badminton as the event takes place right before the end of the Olympic qualifying period.

The former Volant d’Or, held in Toulouse, had been the other French International competition for many years before being cancelled two years ago. Orleans takes the empty seat as each country is only allowed a certain configuration of BWF-sanctioned events.
