Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen will not make friends in the European circuit as he tends to clinch all titles in the competitions he enters on the old continent. The world junior champion once again stunned his opponent Pablo Abian in the final of the Spanish International Badminton Championships held in Madrid this Sunday.

The youngsters were honoured twice with another reigning European Junior champion coming out on top on Sunday: Carolina Marin beat Olga Konon to take the women’s singles crown, while logic prevailed in the mixed and doubles events, where top seeds won in mixed and women’s doubles and the second seeds won over the 4th seeds in the men’s doubles.
