All top seeds advanced in the main draw of the 2011 Yonex OCBC US Open Gold Badminton Championships in Los Angeles on Monday. After the qualification draw, the main draw of the men’s singles saw all favourites cruise to the second round with ease. Only Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki had to battle three games against China’s Tian Houwei, saving two match points in the second game. Chen Jin, scheduled to participate in the event withdrew from the competition which now sees Taufik Hidayat as the main favourite for the event, with Bao Chunlai, Nguyen Tien Minh and Boonsak Ponsana as main rivals.
