Since the fair-play of the Chinese stable isn’t to be questioned, it is most likely that no fewer than 2 top seeds of the upcoming Yonex will not be featured. The participation of the duo of Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei and the women’s doubles pair Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang’s in Tokyo seems unlikely as they had to withdraw, citing injury in the recently concluded China Masters on Saturday and Sunday.

All players were not able to finish their match against their own compatriots. This means, unless the team doctor can perform miracles, that they are not likely to be able to compete in the event in Tokyo. Their fans will hope that they recover soon to be able to perform at their very best as they had shown in the BWF Yonex World Championships, where they had scooped gold.

Jiang Yanjiao, who also had to conceded a walkover half way through the second game against Wang Shixian, was not entered in the Yonex Japan Open draw.
