There will be 3 bidders to host the 2013 when the candidacies are being evaluated on December 9th by the governing body. Copenhagen and Guangzhou had hinted they were going to bid for the event but Macau is now also on the list for the first of the new Olympiad.

In case of a loss by the Danes or the Chinese, both Macau and Copenhagen have bid for the next year’s event as well – 2014, but not Guangzhou, which recently hosted the Asian Games.

The host of the Sudirman Cup in 2013 will also be decided on that same date of December 9th in Queenstown, New Zealand. Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne are the two bidders for this competition, which could make it a historic first stop in Oceania.
