Malaysians scooped 4 of the 5 available Gold medals in the badminton event of the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Isle of Man on Sunday. Zulfadli Zulkiffli did not disappoint and stood up to his status of top seed as the Malaysian beat Sameer Verma in three tough games. Malaysia also scooped Gold in Men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed, but Sonia Cheah had to settle for silver only in the women’s singles as India’s Pusarla Venkata Sindhu proved too strong for the young Malaysian. Cheah also had Silver in the women’s double, beaten by her compatriots Chow/Lee.
