After the announcement was made that Denmark was to host the 2014 (article HERE), the hosts of the other upcoming events were unveiled today as the Badminton World Federation () announced the host cities for the 2013  World Championships and from New Zealand, where the world governing body is holding its Council meeting. The 2013 edition of the world individual meet goes to Guangzhou, China. Macau and Copenhagen were also bidding for the event but the Danish capital was given the 2014 edition.

“This was perhaps one of the most closely contested World Championships host city bids we’ve ever had”, said BWF President Dr Kang Young Joong on the BWF official  website, “and I’m delighted to see the strong bids put forward by these powerhouses of the sport.”

Kuala Lumpur was the only city to bid for the 2013 Sudirman Cup and will hence host the world mixed team event.
