Good day for Japan in Macau as both its Women’s and Men’s squads topped their respective groups. On Wednesday the Thomas Cup team beat Thailand 4-1 (the only loss came from Hirata/Hashimoto against Bodin/Jongjit) while the Uber Cup squad beat Hong Kong 4/1 to secure a quarter final spot against Singapore, who were beaten 1-4 by Chinese Taipei in the same session. The latter top group X and will play Hong Kong in the ther quarter fnal.

In the Thomas Cup, Japan will take on Chinese Taipei while China and Thailand will fight for another semi-final spot. The other quarter finals will be known after the evening session.
