World #1 women’s doubles shuttler Yu Yang has quit following the decision taken by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to disqualify her and 7 other players from the London for match-fixing (see here).

According to a translation by the Agence France Presse (AFP), the 26-year-old reigning gold medallist wrote on her Weibo microblog, “This is my last time competing. Goodbye Badminton World Federation, goodbye my beloved badminton.  You have heartlessly shattered our dreams.”
