England scooped 9 gold medals in the World Championships which concluded Saturday Sept 14th in Ankara, Turkey. The English have almost twice as much as the 3 co-runners-up – Japan, Denmark and Germany – who all have 5 gold medals to brag about. Some famous names, however, made it to the last day and won gold. Heriyanto Arbi, for instance, won the event in men’s doubles over-35 with his friend Trikus Haryanto against Nick Ponting and Lee Clapham of England, while the Eddy Hartono and Rudy Wijaya (playing under the Czech banner) took gold in men’s doubles over-40.
