5 years after the last time Malaysia held the World Championships, the crème-de-la-crème of teenaged badminton players will go back to Alor Setar, next spring, the BWF announced this past weekend.

This tournament – a qualifier for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China – will be held from April 7th to 18th at Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Setar, Kedah. It will feature the Junior Mixed Team Championships (Suhandinata Cup) as well as competition in individual categories for the Eye Level Cups.

Persons born on or before 1 January 1997 will be eligible to play in the 2014 BWF World Junior Championships, with the possibility of going on to Youth Olympic Games next August if they reach the quarter-finals and meet other qualifying criteria.
