Mathias Boe will not travel to India after he was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia, which will require surgery. The Danish squad now looks less capable of making it to the final, as the duo he forms with Carsten Mogensen is one of the stronger points of the Danish team.

This is what Boe wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday:

“This normal Tuesday turned out rather unexpected for me. Yesterday I felt pain in my stomach, and I found a small lump over my belly button. I went to the doctor and he said I need surgery for umbilical hernia, as it can get really bad if I don’t take care of it now. The surgery will happen Thursday, feel really nervous right now, since it’s my first surgery. I hope to be back in full practice within a few weeks.”
