Malaysian star Lee Chong Wei will waste no time getting back into action as he has been named to Malaysia’s Sudirman Cup team.  Malaysia’s team features the decorated veteran along with only 18-year-old Cheam June Wei at men’s singles.  The Badminton World Federation (BWF) released the full entry lists today for all teams participating in the Sudirman Cup competition, badminton’s World Mixed Team Championship, which kicks off on May 10th in Dongguan, China.

Malaysia’s was one of three that is missing some seasoned veterans.  Cheam was chosen ahead of no fewer than thirteen higher-ranked Malaysian singles players.  As expected, Denmark is without five star doubles players who were recently removed from the national team following a conflict over sponsorship.  Team Indonesia has eschewed all four men’s singles shuttlers who are ranked in the world’s top 50 and is going with three teenagers instead.
