After Hu Yun was reported to have been invited to the Finals, Malaysia’s Vivian Hoo and Woon Khe Wei may just get the nod, given reports in the Indonesian press that Nitya Krishinda Maheswari will be unable to make the trip.

As we await the confirmed list from the BWF for the season-ending in Dubai, news continues to trickle in about possible substitutions due to .  First the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong reported that Chen Long had withdrawn and that Hu Yun had been invited to fill his spot.

Now, Indonesia’s Tempo has reported (article in Bahasa Indonesia) that world #5 Nitya Krishinda Maheswari may require knee surgery and that she and Greysia Polii will be skipping the event.  According to Superseries standings, that should trigger an invitation being sent to Malaysia’s Vivian Hoo and Woon Khe Wei.  Hoo and Woon finished 10th on the Superseries standings.  Their best result this year was a semi-final finish at the Indonesian Open Superseries Premier event in June.

The BWF website shows that the tournament’s entry list is to be published on December 8th but it was not available at the time of writing.  The US$1,000,000 tournament kicks off next Wednesday in Dubai, UAE.
