The last weeks of 2016 have seen two high-profile badminton couples tie the knot.  Just this past Monday, Vietnam’s two Olympians Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang (pictured), had their first wedding ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, according to a report in Tuoi Tre News, after which they will have another ceremony in Vu’s hometown of Bac Giang.  Photos of the first ceremony are available from Vu Thi Trang’s Facebook page.

Earlier this month, India’s Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Pradnya Gadre married the former partner of both of his current partners.  While the two doubles aces appear to have played only one international match together, Gadre had long partnerships with both Akshay Dewalkar and with Sikki Reddy, both of whom are presently paired with Pranaav.  According to The Times of India, the two shuttlers were wed in the city of Nashik, in Maharashtra, on December 13.  Pranaav’s Facebook page also has photos of the couple.
