Apparently, the H7N9 bird flu strain may affect the badminton world. The virus, which has killed seven people and made 24 ill in eastern China is worrying badminton officials. A report from AFP quotes PBSI pokesman Ricky Subagja, who is fearing the flu might have a huge impact for his country as more than 40% of shuttles used in the country come from China. Indonesia has banned poultry and feathers coming from mainland China. « I hope the ban won’t last long as I’m afraid that it will have an impact, » on the supply of shuttlecocks, Subagja said.
