News emerged this week that Thai men’s doubles star Bodin Issara had retired from badminton but the latest news is that the India Open Superseries champion is simply making some major changes.

On Tuesday, the Bangkok Post reported that Bodin Issara had told the Badminton Association of Thailand he was giving up the sport because of injury and a wish to look after his mother.   Since then, however, Badzine’s sources within the Thai national team have said that the 22-year-old was merely not happy training at the Badminton Association of Thailand’s training quarters at Lumpini Park and that Bodin has not quit the Thai National Team.

Bodin is currently ranked #8 in the world with Maneepong Jongjit, with whom he was to compete at next week’s Djarum Superliga in Indonesia.  However, he will instead be teaming up with singles player Pakkawat Vilailak as his new partner, and they will start playing together at this year’s Austrian Open and German Open. They are looking for a new place to train, other than the association’s training quarters at Lumpini Park.
