According to a press release from Badminton Denmark, 9 of the current 12 Super Series events will continue their run in 2011 while the fates of the China Masters and the  Hong Kong, India, and Swiss Opens will be decided upon a re-evaluation.  The other candidates – Australia, Macau, the USA and Vietnam – have been deemed unready to host a Super Series tournament.

It will also be decided in May which 3 or 4 of the 12 Super Series will be “promoted” to the Premier Super Series status, where higher minimum prize money, ranking points, player obligations and host obligations will be imposed with the hope of creating an even higher brand value for the hosts and the sport.  This will not, however, change the minimum prize money of US$200,000 for the other Super Series hosts.
