The Badminton World Federation has just released the draws for the 2010 Djarum Super Series.  Even without the token Chinese presence that marks the Li-Ning Singapore Open the previous week, the Jakarta fans will be treated to an entire week of top-notch badminton.  Once again the action gets hot early as a pairing of former champions and home favourites Candra Wijaya and Luluk Hadiyanto take on men’s doubles top seeds Koo/Tan.  Should the Malaysians pass the first test, six more Indonesian pairs are still among the top flight field that will make this race interesting from start to finish.

In men’s singles, Taufik Hidayat makes his return to Super Series play as second seed and compatriot Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka has the unenviable task of playing world #1 Lee Chong Wei in the very first round, that’s one round earlier than in Singapore the previous week.  Meanwhile women’s singles top seed and defending champion Saina Nehwal must start against one of Korea’s teen sensations, Sung Ji Hyun, while second seed Pi Hongyan faces the other, Bae Youn Joo.

Badzine will be on site in Jakarta to bring you the action complete with live photos from BadmintonPhoto.
