The state of form of Korea’s jewel Lee Yong Dae was unknown when he entered the Kumpoo this week, but unfortunately for the Korean it appears that he has still not reached his form back after his injury.  He was forced to withdraw together with his partner Lee Hyo Jung, and got beaten later in the day in the men’s doubles with Jung Jae Sung against Japan’s Endo/Hayakawa in three games.

This is not good news for the Koreans less than a month before the Yonex World Championships in Paris.

To make this day even worse for Korea, Bae Seung Hee was also ousted by former Chinese National Wang Rong while Japan’s Goto upset 8th seed Salakjit Ponsana 22-20 in the rubber game. Most other seeded players pairs made it through to the third round, where Lee Hyun Il will still be in action – the Korean veteran is set to meet Lee Chong Wei in the final if he makes it that far.

Badzine will be live in Macau during the weekend to cover the event.
