A new name has entered the women’s singles top 5 without any prior announcement. Tine Baun from Denmark is suddenly ranked world no. 5 in the latest BWF world rankings. But of course, all those who follow our “gossip column” are aware that this player is none other than Tine Rasmussen, who recently married Martin Baun, team physio-therapist of the Danish national team. Farewell to Ms. Rasmussen – erstwhile homonym of (but no relation to) several other famous Danes (including former World Champions Peter and Jonas) – and welcome to Tine Baun.
