The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has officially announced that Chinese Taipei will host the Super Series Finals for the 2010 season.

The US$500,000 tournament is to have Victor as the title sponsor when it moves out of Malaysia for the first time.  It will also move out of the calendar year of the Super Series tour it will cap off, to be held instead in early 2011, from January 5-9, just over a week before the new Super Series season kicks off in Malaysia on the 18th.

BWF Chief Operating Officer Thomas Lund, in a federation press release, thanked the Chinese Taipei Badminton (CTBA) for , adding: “They have always been excellent hosts and I am confident they will do a wonderful job in the tournament.”

“The BWF Super Series Finals is growing stronger as a brand and we are proud to play hosts,” CTBA secretary-General Tsai Hung-Peng was quoted as saying. “With so many top players in the event, badminton fans in Taipei are in for some amazing badminton.”
