WORLDS 2010 – Sony to sit it out

Sony Dwi Kuncoro is to miss next week’s World Championships in Paris due to a recurring back problem, as reported by The Jakarta Globe this morning. The number 6 seed, who famously defeated world #1 Lee Chong Wei in Hyderabad last year was a clear favourite for a medal as he found himself in the easier half of the draw. Denmark’s Peter Gade is the clear beneficiary of the Indonesian’s withdrawal and must be confident now of at least making the final in Paris next week.
