India was the first nation to clinch a ticket to the final of the mixed team event with a 3-0 victory over England on Thursday night. The points were delivered by Kashyap Parupalli against Rajiv Ouseph, then Diju/Gutta over Robertson/Wallwork before Saina Nehwal made it a clean sweep over Elisabeth Cann all in straight games.

In the other semi-final, Malaysia beat Singapore but not before Xing Aiying took one point with a victory over Wong Mew Choo.
