Irish Scott Evans will be eyeing at his First Yonex Czech International Gold medal in Brno on Sunday, after he managed to win his semi final clash with young and promising Viktor Axelsen of Denmark. The Irish – who is Solibad Ambassador in his country – beat the world junior champion in straight games on Saturday and will face India’s Jayaram, who now plays in Europe during the regular season after signing for a French Club.

The surprise guest of the finals will be Malaysia Born French representative Sashina Vignes Waran, who came back from 16/20 in the third game to beat Tatjana Bibik of Russia. She’ll take on Karina Jorgensen in Sunday’s final for a first International success for either one.
